Texas Sheath Cake

Well, I am back from the craft fair and I thought I would mix things up a little bit!  My mom makes this delicious chocolate cake that is to-die-for and I just had to share the recipe!  Now, I am normally not a chocoholic but seriously, I could eat this cake every day… if I did, I would be showing you how to let out pants! 🙂

Cake Ingredients:
2 cups of flour
2 cups of sugar
1 stick of butter
4 tbs of cocoa powder
1 cup of water
1/2 cup of buttermilk
2 eggs
1 tsp of vanilla
2 tsp of cinnamon

Frosting Ingredients:
4 tbs of cocoa
1 stick of butter
6 tbs of milk
16 oz of powdered sugar
1 tsp of vanilla
1 cup of pecans (optional)

How to do it:

Immediately after you remove the cake from the oven pour icing over! 🙂

Mix untill all the lumps are gone!

Add in powdered sugar and pecans (if desired.)

Add milk and bring to a boil.

FROSTING: Melt butter and add cocoa.

Bake for 25 minutes on 400 in a jelly roll pan or 30 minutes in a baking dish.

Pour into a jelly roll pan or a 9×13 dish.

Mix ‘er all together!

Add vanilla and cinnamon.

Add eggs.

Add baking soda.

Add buttermilk.

Mix well.

Pour over dry ingredients (sugar and flour).

Add water. Bring butter, cocoa, and water to a boil.

Add cocoa.

Melt butter.

Combine sugar and flour in a bowl and set aside.
